Daewoo Motor Co. Ltd. is the South Korean car manufacturer. It is located in Seoul. In 1972, the Korean government has legislated the right to engage in automobile production for the four companies. Two of them (Kia and Asia Motors) came up to the co-operation and formed Daewoo. Pretty young and dynamic, Daewoo company had been working with General Motors until 1993. Two years later, the Daewoo cars appeared on the German market. They were two models of the small and average classes: the Nexia and the Espero. In 2002, the South Korean Daewoo officially came under the jurisdiction of the GM, changing its name to GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co.
