KIA Motors corp. is an oldest Korean car producer – its main factory and office are located in Seoul. The company’s start took place in 1944, when Kyungsung Precision Industry was established. First, it was producing the bicycle spares, then – the bicycles themselves (that’s when KIA had got its present name, which actually means “Came from Asia”). In 1961, it began producing the C-100 motorcycles, and in the beginning of the next year the history of KIA cars had started with their first K360 trunk, which was a great success for the next 12 years. First petrol engine was emerged in 1973, and a year later, KIA had created the first Korean passenger car – the Brisa.
