Lotus is a British company, specializing on the sports and racing cars’ production. Since 1996, it belongs to the Malaysian Proton. The company was established in 1953 by Collin Chapman, and was then called “Lotus Engineering Co”. Soon, the famous Lotus 7 model was created, and in 1957 its series production had begun. The Lotus cars, because of the high fees, didn’t go well for quite a long period of time. And only when Proton bought the company, it’s business went better. Per next year, 2248 cars had been emerged, which was 3 times more than in 1996. And the new roadster – Elise – became quite popular.
