Mercury is an American passenger cars manufacturer. It is also a part of the Ford Motor company. It’s main office is located in Dearborn (Michigan state). The Mercury cars were created in 1939 to become the rivals of Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac and the cheap Cadillac models. The brand’s name means, it is under the patronage of Mercurius – the god of trade. First Mercury models came as the cabriolets – they had 8-cylinder engine and a great outlook style. The very first car was actually slightly changed Ford model: it was a bit longer and its V8 engine was bigger. Successfully commercialised, its production went on until 1942, to be continued after war.
