The story of Mitsubishi began in 1870, when the young businessman Yataro Iwasaki had established the small steamship company called Tsukomo Shokai. In 1875, though, it changed its name to Mitsubishi Mail Steamship Company – it was a great ancestor of all the modern Mitsubishi branches. In pre-war Japan, the Mitsubishi company had quickly widened its activity areas – by the end of 1945th, apart from the steamships it already was offering transport, real estate, banking and many other different services. Mitsibishi cars (the first one was so called Model-A) appeared on the auto-market in 1922nd.
