I have bought it after a short argument and minus 230 $ with the final amount of 5840 $. Changed the oil, no money, wheels appeared to be the disaster. Not comfortable after the previous car, starting from the size of it and ending with the shapes. Couldn’t get used to it for about half year. Besides, the ABC made me mad, when in winter offered not to slow down, at all.
I had to borrow some money and buy a couple of new tires, set them to the front, and since then we could stop at least for the red light at the crossings. But the situation stabilized for final only when we bought and set ‘kumho spt-ku31’. After that the car became better whilst manoeuvring. And the last touch was the stabilizer bar, which – together with the new wheels – gave very noticeable effect, indeed. So, the stab belongs to the ‘must-have’ things, when you are thinking of purchasing this model.
The turns which were difficult before even on the 60 mph, became now sure and smooth on 95 mph. Plus it stopped throwing the passengers out of their seats when turning somewhere on a high speed.
The life of this car ended tragically. On the 8-th of February some minibus pushed it into the side – so strongly, that it became impossible to repair. When the doctors were taking me to the hospital, they said a few good words about the car. According to them, after such an accident there is just a dead body inside the car. And I was able even to walk from my car to theirs, and also talked to them.
So, I was impressed by this model after this accident. Thanks to the Japanese engineers for the reliable and secure car.
My general opinion about it: very nice car. Quite speedy for its class, doesn’t require much of maintainance. Didn’t want to sell ever per all the usage period, and after the accident I’m even thinking of getting myself the same model again. Though, compared to the sporty cars, it’s a bit boring. I was permanently thinking about changing the engine to the sr16ve, or something like that. I was only stopped by the understanding, that with the engine I would have to change the chassis, as well.
