Peugeot SA is the biggest private auto company in France. It specializes on the passenger and racing cars, motorcycles and bicycles, also engines. In 1974 the company went to co-operation with Citroën. The main office is located in Paris. The company was established by Peugeot - the family of the manufacturers and engineers, and they still lead it nowadays. In 1889, the first Peugeot cars (steamcars) were created. Starting from this point, their success went further on. The fastest car of its time became the Peugeot Goux (1913) – its speed was 173 mph. And the most popular became Peugeot 206 – more than 5 millions of them had been sold.
