In 1895, nearly Christmas, the small Slavia bicycle producing/repairing company came to life. Its owners - Václav Laurin and Václav Klement – were going to continue with the bicycles, if not the genial idea of the 1-cylinder engine creation, installed into the bicycle frame. In the end of 1898, the first reliable motorcycle under the Laurin&Klement name was emerged. It was good enough for the everyday exploiting. In about 3 years, the new motorcycle model, which had 3 wheels and could make up to 30 mph, was introduced to society. And in 1905, the partners finally created the first car - L&K Voiturette.
