Micro Compact Car, Smart is a branch of the larger car manufacturer - Daimler Chrysler. The Smart was established in 1994 to create the city micro car by the Daimler-Benz Corp together with Swatch. The first Smart cars (Smart eco – coupe body style) went into mass production in 1998, though their projects have been started far back in 1972. Its original design conceipt was developed by Swatch in 1989, and the technical-economical part of the project had started only in 4 years. The first Smart model was introduced to public at the Frankfurt auto show in 1995, and its factory was started to be built just a month later.
