The year of the company establishment is reckoned to be the 1954, when the Hadonghwan Motor Company was established in South Korea. First, it produced the Jeep models for the American army. Later on, the SsangYong passenger cars were emerged – not only for the inner production, but for export, as well. In 1988, the small 4-wheeled handled Korando SUV was developed. It was the point, where the SsangYong company became world famous car manufacturer. In the beginning of the XX century, it began to co-operate with the Mercedes-Benz, which invested into this company a lot. As a result, in 1991 were developed the new passenger cars and trucks with the Mercedes-Benz details. And in 1993 – the Musso model.
